Mission Statement
Brenda Avadian, MA
The Caregiver's Voice
To support groups and organizations that help people with Alzheimer's* and their families.
After Martin Avadian was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, his daughter, Brenda, dedicated herself to his care while walking with other caregivers on an overwhelming and uncertain road. Together, she and those she journeyed with were able to provide the best possible care for their loved ones while finding the JOY.
She is fulfilling a mission to support groups and organizations that help people with Alzheimer's/dementia and their families. During the past decade, she has donated over $1,000,000 in services; including speeches, consultations, group facilitations, and books.
Brenda's pioneering caregiver's memoir, "Where's my shoes?" My Father's Walk Through Alzheimer's (also available in Audio Book, the German language, Die Zeit mit dir, in Spanish, "¿Dónde están mis zapatos?" and in the Korean language.), and the groundbreaking Finding the JOY series, Finding the JOY in Alzheimer's: Caregivers share the JOYFUL times, and Finding the JOY in Alzheimer's: When Tears are Dried with Laughter--have helped caregivers worldwide.
*Brenda Avadian is working on a series of Finding the JOY books including one on cancer. As with her other books, sales proceeds support groups and organizations.
