CALIFORNIA CAREGIVER RESOURCE CENTERS

The 11 California CRCs help those who care for an adult with a brain impairment acquired after the age of 18. Most services are at no cost to the caregiver.

H.E.L.P. HEALTHCARE AND ELDER LAW PROGRAMS

Non-profit education and counseling center for older adults and families on elder care, law, finances, and consumer protection. Primarily serves southern California but offers invaluable information for caregiving families across the U.S.

LANCASTER ADULT DAY HEALTH CARE / ALZHEIMER’S DAY CARE RESOURCE CENTER

Provides health and socialization services to elderly and disabled adults. Staffed by trained professionals and covered by MediCal and SCAN and private pay. Caregiver support group meetings (with free respite) every Tuesday from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m.

There are THREE HOSPICE agencies in the Antelope Valley.
Attend their support groups to find a suitable one for you.

1. HOFFMANN HOSPICE

The Antelope Valley’s only full-service nonprofit Hospice agency.
Grief support group meets every Tuesday 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

2. KAISER HOSPICE

Bereavement meetings twice per week: Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Kaiser Palmdale Clinic in Classroom 2 (just inside the door to the clinic). Caregivers and the bereaved welcome. Friday mornings from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. at the Kaiser Lancaster Clinic, South Wing, Room B. Open to all (including non-Kaiser). No pre-registration. Free. Just come.

3. PROCARE HOSPICE

Provides services meeting the needs of individuals experiencing life-limiting illnesses and their families.
